Learn how to use the Jump Start ECC mobile app to access resources, videos, and learning materials.

Getting Started

Download the App

Jump Start ECC is available for download on:

  • Apple App Store: Search for "Jump Start ECC" or visit the App Store
  • Google Play Store: Search for "Jump Start ECC" or visit Google Play

The app is free to download and compatible with most modern iOS and Android devices.

Account & Settings

Create Your Account

  1. Open the Jump Start ECC app
  2. Go to the login screen and use the "Sign Up" link
  3. Enter your first and last name, username, email address and create a password
  4. Provide your unique REDCap ID and role. Both the REDCap ID and role are provided by your Jump Start consultant.
  5. You're ready to use the app!

Update Your Profile

  1. Open the app and Journey located at the bottom of the screen. Alternatively, if you are logged in, you can use the top right menu and go to the settings menu item.
  2. Select "Profile Settings" or "My Account"
  3. Edit your name, email, or other information
  4. Tap "Save" to apply changes

Reset Your Password

  1. On the sign-in screen, tap "Forgot Password"
  2. Enter your email address
  3. Check your email for a password reset link
  4. Click the link and create a new password
  5. Sign back in with your new password

Delete Your account

  1. Once logged in, go to the journey section and go to the settings menu item located at the bottom of the screen. Alternatively, you can use the top right menu and go to the settings menu item.
  2. Click on the "Delete Account" button
  3. You must enter your password, then click the "Delete" button

App Features

Home Screen

The Home screen is your main hub. It provides:

  • Quick access to your profile and settings
  • Language selection (English, Spanish, Haitian Creole)
  • Navigation to all app sections
  • Recent activity and notifications

Resources

Access a library of downloadable educational materials:

  • Browse by category (Child, Classroom, Program)
  • Download PDF resources for offline viewing
  • Topics include child development, behavior management, and best practices
  • All materials available in multiple languages

Videos

Watch expert-led educational videos:

  • View videos on topics like transitions, implicit bias, and communication
  • Filter by category to find relevant content
  • Stream online or download for offline viewing (where available)
  • Closed captions available in multiple languages

Learning Journeys

Follow guided learning paths personalized to your needs:

  • Track your progress through structured learning modules
  • Topics include child safety, behavior management, and self-care
  • Receive recommended resources based on your focus area
  • Complete modules at your own pace

Surveys

Complete surveys as part of your Jump Start consultation:

  • Access surveys assigned by your Jump Start consultant
  • Provide feedback and assessment data
  • Track completion status
  • Surveys help consultants provide better personalized support

Note: Survey access requires account creation with a valid participant ID.

Support

Connect with Jump Start ECC support:

  • Access to provider directory and contact information
  • FAQ section with common questions
  • Knowledge base with helpful articles
  • Direct contact options for assistance

How to Use Key Features

Changing Your Language

  1. Tap the Home icon in the bottom navigation
  2. Look for the language selector at the top of the screen
  3. Choose from English, Spanish, or Haitian Creole
  4. Your preference will be saved automatically

Downloading Resources

  1. Navigate to the Resources section
  2. Browse by category or search for specific topics
  3. Tap on a resource to view details
  4. Select the download button to save the PDF to your device
  5. Access downloaded resources anytime, even without an internet connection

Completing a Survey

  1. Sign in to your account with your email and password
  2. Navigate to the Journey section
  3. Select "Surveys" to view assigned surveys
  4. Tap on a survey to begin
  5. Answer all questions honestly and thoroughly
  6. Review your responses before submitting
  7. Tap "Submit" to send your survey to Jump Start consultants

Finding Videos by Category

  1. Tap the Videos icon in the bottom navigation
  2. Use the category filter to narrow results
  3. Scroll through available videos
  4. Tap a video title to watch
  5. Use playback controls to pause, resume, or adjust playback speed

Troubleshooting

App Won't Load or Crashes

  • Ensure you have a stable internet connection
  • Close the app completely and reopen it
  • Update the app to the latest version from your app store
  • Restart your device
  • Clear the app cache (in Settings → Apps → Jump Start ECC → Storage)

Can't Sign In to My Account

  • Verify your email address is correct
  • Check that CAPS LOCK is off
  • Tap "Forgot Password" to reset your password
  • Ensure you have internet connectivity
  • If you haven't created an account yet, tap "Create Account" first

Downloads Are Slow or Not Working

  • Check your internet connection (use WiFi if possible)
  • Ensure you have enough storage space on your device
  • Try downloading a different resource first to test
  • Close other apps that may be using your internet bandwidth
  • If a download fails, try again after a few moments

Video Won't Play

  • Ensure you have a strong internet connection
  • Try closing and reopening the app
  • Update your app to the latest version
  • Try watching on a different network (WiFi instead of cellular)
  • Restart your device if issues persist

I Don't See My Surveys

  • Confirm you're signed into your account
  • Verify you have a valid participant ID (check with your Jump Start consultant)
  • Surveys appear after your consultant has assigned them to you
  • Pull down to refresh the surveys list
  • Contact your Jump Start consultant if surveys still don't appear
